Asset statuses
Asset statuses reflect where an asset is in its lifecycle - from being assigned to a job through to decommissioning. Statuses update automatically based on job and project activity, except for Decommissioned, which is set manually.
Assets in all statuses except Allocated appear in the Asset register. Allocated assets can be seen on their associated site.
Why asset statuses matter
Understanding asset statuses helps you:
- See at a glance which assets are operational, being serviced, or decommissioned
- Track the lifecycle of hardware across your customer base
- Respond to manufacturer recalls by identifying assets by status and type
Statuses
| Status | Definition | How it's triggered |
|---|---|---|
| Allocated | The asset has been assigned to a job but not yet physically installed. | The installation job status is Prepared. |
| Commissioning | The asset has been physically installed but is not yet commissioned (e.g. new home builds). | The installation job status is Submitted. |
| Active | The asset is fully operational at the customer's site. | The installation job status is Completed. |
| Servicing | The asset is undergoing service or repair. | A service project is opened for the asset. The status automatically reverts to the previous status when the service project is closed (unless set to Decommissioned). |
| Decommissioned | The asset has been permanently removed from the customer's site. | An operator manually updates the status during a removal job or project closure. |
