The sales project workflow is designed for selling and installing new systems, from initial customer contact to a completed installation.

  • Guides sales, operations, and installation teams through each stage, keeping everyone coordinated.
  • Tracks progress automatically as tasks are completed, to ensure nothing gets missed along the way

The sales project journey

This is an outline of a typical sales project that includes an inspection job. Each step below shows what to do and where to do it:

Onboarding stage

This is the starting stage for every sales project. You'll create the customer record and add their site details.

Step Where Purpose
Add a customer Console Create a customer record to store their contact details and other relevant information.
Onboard customer site task Console Create a site record to store information such as the number of phases and NMI.

Quoting stage

In this stage, you design the system for your customer using Pylon.

Step Where Purpose
Add a sales project Console Create a UPowr sales project to link to Pylon.
Add a linked Pylon project Console Create a Pylon project that’s linked to our UPowr project.
Create your Pylon proposals Pylon Design your system and proposal using the Pylon design tool.
Sync Pylon project Console Pull any changes that you made in Pylon into UPowr, so both systems have the same information.

Considering stage

In this stage, your customer reviews the Pylon proposal and decides whether to proceed. When they sign the proposal, the UPowr quote status updates automatically, and the project moves to the committing stage.

Commiting stage

The project automatically enters this stage when the customer signs the proposal. During it, your customer completes the commitment process in Pylon (such as paying their deposit).

Once this stage is complete, you can schedule the inspection.

Inspection stage

In this stage, you assess the site before installation to confirm the design and identify any issues.

Confirm inspection task Console Confirm the job, and add an optional note to the information sheet for installers.
Accept and schedule inspection job Installer app Review the job and agree on a date and time with the customer.
Inspection checklist task Installer app Complete the inspection and record information for the report.
Review inspection artefacts task Console Look over the report and decide if any changes are needed to the Pylon proposal.
Complete inspection review task Console Decide whether the project can continue to an installation job.

Installation stage

Install the system at the customer's site and complete all commissioning and regulatory requirements.

Before the installation:

Step Where Purpose
Start installation Console Start the installation job workflow.
Confirm installation task Console Confirm the job, and add an optional note to the information sheet for installers.
Lodge Permission to Connect task Console A reminder to lodge the application to connect with the customer’s distributor.
Receive Permission to Connect task Console A reminder to upload the permission to connect to UPowr.
Accept and schedule installation job Installer App Review the installation job and agree on a date and time with the customer.
Set up site in STC platform Console A reminder to set up the site in your STC platform.
Send order request to supplier Console A reminder to order stock for the installation job.

Once all tasks are completed, the job status will be Prepared

After the installation:

Review installation artefacts task Console Look over the installation report and decide on an outcome.
Update asset serial numbers task Console Record the serial numbers of any assets that you installed.
Upload regulatory documents task Console A reminder to upload the required regulatory documents.
Upload STC assignment form task Console A reminder to upload the STC form.
Generate customer invoice task Console A reminder to generate an invoice and send it to the customer.

Once all tasks are complete and the system is commissioned, the sales project reaches the Completed outcome.
